University of Sydney Research Fellowships

The University of Sydney is currently inviting applications for:


International Visiting Research Fellowships

Duration: 3 – 12 weeks

Closing date: 5:00 PM, Sydney time, 27 November 2009 for travel between February 2010 and February 2011. Late or incomplete applications (eg. not fully signed) will NOT be accepted. Applicants must contact the Head of the host School/Department before 23 October 2009.

These will allow outstanding researchers from overseas to spend a period of up to 12 weeks conducting collaborative research at the University of Sydney. Applications from returning expatriate Australians are encouraged.

Internal Applicants Only: The Laffan, Brown & Thompson Fellowships

Duration: Up to two semesters of teaching relief for University of Sydney academics, or technical assistance for research only academics.

Closing date: 5:00 PM, Sydney time, 23 October 2009 for fellowships starting Semester 1, 2010.

These new Fellowships are designed to promote equity and diversity at the University of Sydney. The Laffan fellowships support researchers with disabilities; The Brown Fellowships support researchers re-establishing careers after significant caring responsibilities; and The Thompson Fellowships address the under-representation of women in senior academic positions.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

Duration: 3 years commencing January 2010.

Closing date: 5:00 PM, Sydney time, 11 September 2009. Applicants must contact the Head of the host School/Department before 7 August 2009.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships are being offered to attract outstanding researchers within 2-6 years of the award of their PhD to conduct full-time research in any of the schools or departments of the Universityof Sydney
